So the evacuation stuff only happened today it turns out. I presume my parents are leaving now. They’re pretty far up the mountain away from town, but it’s still not safe to be there so I sure hope they left. Actually seeing the fire made me cry in a way reading about it didn’t. I hope everyone and their houses and animals will be okay.

Okay so another email says they’re staying since they’re not actually in town and will only leave if things get even worse. Apparently the fire came within 50 feet of the postmistress’s home and they managed to keep it back. But I’m going to be really fucking nervous as long as they stay.
