Does anyone else feel rage-y whenever you see this cartoon?

Not only is it full of reading comprehension fail, including really obvious factual errors, but the perspective on gender offered by it makes my skin crawl.

Let’s start with the preposterous implication that Katniss ought to choose a…

In the comments section on DA, the artist owned up to the fact that they hadn’t read the books, and were only basing it on the movie. Which is a problem in of itself, if for no other reason than it just proves how badly Peeta’s character was handled. I like the art, especially the way Katniss hugs him at the end, but I definitely have problems with the content.

Oh, well that explains (some) things.  Though I honestly don’t get how someone could be all that invested in Gale’s character from the five minutes he was in the movie.  (Well, Gale love in general is something I don’t quite get, but I especially don’t get how anyone could care all that much about a character who was barely in the movie.)

I’ve neither seen the movie nor read the book. And it still pissed me off. Because it seemed to be based in that idea that women shouldn’t actually choose their partners, they should always go with the one who has the apparent “best qualities” – which may not be their preference at all.
