Can I hurt myself by chewing things too much?

Yeah you can develop overuse sorts of jaw injuries. I’m very prone to that, because I have a jaw deformity plus hypermobility that make the problem worse.

(And while I was told there were lots of mouth and jaw problems growing up, I didn’t learn the exact nature of them until a TMJ specialist did a panoramic scan of my jaws and skull and told me all the various things wrong with them. In particular for these purposes, my jaw sockets – I don’t remember the real name – are too shallow for the jaw bone to fit in, which makes them pop out a lot and that becomes painful.)
