Okay that’s it.
I’m seeing a pattern here and it’s not pretty.
As my gastroparesis gets worse, my tendency to aspirate stomach acid in my sleep gets worse. I’ve been tested for reflux and I have it but I don’t think that’s what’s happening.
I think what’s happening is what happens a lot when I’m awake. I burp, and lots of stuff comes up because of the burp, rather than normal reflux. And this happens all the time and more often when my stomach is all weird because it won’t empty and things build up and crap.
When I aspirate, I generally need antibiotics. This time just now was a borderline case. But this past year is the year that my gastroparesis got really severe, enough that solid food was just no longer an option. And suddenly I’m doing it six times in two months, instead of three times a year.
Suspect I’m belching in my sleep and stuff is coming up during that because its not leaving my stomach quick enough.
So yet one more reason on the pro side of getting a pacemaker. Gah. It’s like my stomach is suicidal or something.
