Has anyone else had extreme weight gain with GP? I hardly eat yet I gain so much weight! Tips would be helpful! Thanks!
I’ve got a lot of different conditions including gastroparesis and I’m fat. I don’t know if the gastroparesis contributed to getting fat, but I know that extreme weight loss (as I experienced before having GP, due to other factors causing starvation) and starvation can cause a body to slow down the metabolism leading to weight gain later on when you eat normally. I have no “tips” because my only real goal is to maintain whatever weight my body seems to want to stay at, rather than to maintain a low weight.
Also, I’ve seen several other people with gastroparesis who have the same body shape I do – lots and lots and lots of belly fat in particular. So there must be something to that. Most of my extra weight is on my belly.
