What is the difference between concrete thinking and abstract thinking?
I’ll take a shot at this. Here’s an example from my AS evaluation. The person administering the test gave me these two words and asked me what makes them alike: anchor and fence.

I think there are degrees of concrete and abstract. What most people call concrete is very abstract to me because I think best in a sort of pure sensory way that is more concrete than the most concrete language possible. So “concrete language” seems abstract to me because all language is abstract. But it’s a matter of degree I guess. What most people call concrete thinking is much more abstract than my thinking for the same reasons. I can do abstract thinking but it is hard for me, very very concrete thinking is my strength, and it comes up with results people are surprised by.
