No lid means have to call a nurse to empty it every time I go or it reeks. But other than that in feeling better than I’ve felt since I got here. The Battle of the Hospital has commenced. The stupid hospital tried to A) deny my friend a room unless the local developmental disability agency accompanied her at all times (she lives independently btw, but even if she didn’t shouldn’t the decision who gets hospitalized depend on health status?). Then once they admitted her (after I raised hell and threatened a lawsuit) they tried to release her the next morning (this in spite of the fact that she is aspirating so frequently her life depends on getting a feeding tube as quickly as possible). I raised hell again, and tossed around the most magic of words in a medical context, “malpractice” (they can rest confident that if they kill her I will shove more lawyers up their behinds than they knew existed on this green earth…). So that decision was reversed. Now I just have to watch the Evil Hospital Dragon every minute of the next week or so, with sword and lance in hand, ready to kill the next crazy, homocidal, malpractice-laden, idea they come up with (I give them, ohhh, about 15 minutes or so before they try another stupid thing). I am so tired. And for the first time in my life I have high blood pressure. The damned health care system will kill us all. AAAAAARGH! // //
