Today is the first day they left me alone and let me heal.
And I’m consequently feeling, not good, not at all, but not desperately awful. Not even a moment of delirium all day, though there were of course low points.
I’ve reached 45 mL/hour on my feeding tube pump. That means that I can get all the nutrition I need, if I let the pump stay on 24 hours. The goal is 90-95 so I can be off the pump part of the day. The food is tailored to my needs — low fat, no fiber, high protein — and looks exactly what we tube fed the birds at Wildlife Rescue. The lady demonstrating the machine says that when you put together all the right nutrients for food, it always seems to come out that color. Makes sense — we made the bird food in a blender.
