Trying to find the right words: What I meant about autism speaks in my stereotype list
I understand fully how horrible Autism Speaks is.
But I’d still be as autistic if I supported them, or if I didn’t care.
And there’s this thing going around, that somehow…
I think maybe because its succeeded too well at making itself known as the only big autism organization? And now everyone thinks it invented all the puzzle piece stuff and everything else. Including lots and lots of things that lots and lots of organizations have been doing from years to decades.
