I’ve heard at least three today. That’s more than I ever want to hear in my life. They have a distinctive, awful sound.

When I’ve been in the hospital, any patient can ask for the services of a chaplain, and quite often it’s just to go around talking to patients about the spiritual difficulties involved in being in the hospital, whatever they might be, and to ask for prayers if wanted. I’m really glad they have a service like that. It’s often the only person working there who treats me like a full human being.
