do you drive and if so are there…

I can’t drive.

There’s a large number of reasons.

One, regardless of skill, it’s illegal, and rightly so, for someone with more than a certain amount of seizures to drive.

Two, lots of perceptual stuff.

I have a lot of trouble with visual processing. I often don’t see other cars. Even as they are cutting off the car I am riding in. I have trouble crossing the street safely because of trouble perceiving cars, and their motion.

And stuff often shifts for me until I can’t make sense of anything. Anything I’m looking at. Can’t think of it.

Sometimes everything just looks like fragments or even pixels.

And also cognitive problems. Like keeping all the required concepts in my head at once.

Is actually exhausting for me to even drive an electric wheelchair, because of all the work that goes into it cognitively. And I’ve nearly gotten myself killed a bunch of times doing so, but I do it because I can’t very well walk places.

Also, there’s motor issues. I freeze up sometimes and can’t move. That’s as bad as a seizure, in terms of car safety. Or I will have trouble directing the way my body moves.

So it’s basically because of a large variety of different perceptual, cognitive, and motor reasons, and also because seizures.
