I realized I hadn’t done this picture yet. This is for the specific people I know who are interested in medical pictures – you know who you are. It’s a picture of my feeding tube (GJ tube) coming out of the stoma, with nothing covering the stoma. Also my fat roll. :-P
Normally I cover the stoma with an absorbent cloth pad with decorative designs on it, so nothing leaks on my shirt. I hadn’t even seen the stoma until they took the blue disk off of the tube. I thought it would look horrible. But it just looks almost like a belly button except with a tube going into it and a bunch of irritated peeling skin around it, left over from the week when they literally didn’t change my dressing for a week. That’s another reason I like the cloth pads better. They don’t let everything sit there and soak into my skin under a bunch of tape where you can’t see what’s going on. And they’re way easier to change, you just pop on off and pop the next one on.
