: I really need your guys help.

fibromyalgia-fairy:

This might be a little long and scattered because i feel like i should be in the E.R right now but i feel like this can’t and shouldn’t wait and my followers, this blog, and the people who suffer with a chronic illness are really the only ones i feel who can help me with this right now.

I guess…

With the vomiting, it might not be this, but have you been checked for gastroparesis? I have it and I wasn’t diagnosed until it got so severe I couldn’t eat any food with any sort of nutrition whatsoever. I was living on broth. Or rather starving to death on broth. Because it’s all I could keep down. Now I have a feeding tube.

But basically it means your stomach doesn’t empty as fast as normal. It can be caused by a number of other diseases, in my case it’s probably related to what my friends call my neuromuscular clusterfuck. But it can be caused by all kinds of things or even happen on its own for no apparent reason at all.

And when your stomach doesn’t empty, you get cramps sometimes, and you get very nauseated whenever you put in food. You often feel full very quickly. You can even feel both full and desperately hungry at the same time.

If you have it, it’s very important to get diagnosed so you can get proper treatment. There’s basically the main treatments are anti nausea drugs and drugs that speed up the rate of your stomach moving, then there’s a pace maker that goes in your stomach to make it move faster, and at the very worst there’s feeding tubes that bypass your stomach (sometimes with one to drain gas and liquid out of your stomach, too – a GJ tube will accomplish both bypassing your stomach and draining from your stomach) or even organ transplants at times. But those last two are much rarer than the meds.

The condition is supposedly a rare one meaning less than a certain amount of people with it get diagnosed. So you may not have it. But then people with chronic illness often do have whatever rare thing. So I thought I’d mention it just so you were aware it exists, too many people have never heard of it until it gets really awful and sometimes not even then. Doctors often mistake it for bulimia or anorexia because it can cause vomiting and loss of appetite.
