There it’s happened again. One side of my face has gone hot to the touch, the other side is fine.
Sometimes when this happens, the hot side of my face will remain hot with an air conditioner pointed straight at it or even ice on it.
Eep. I remember last Friday the red area was clearly visible even over Skype video. :/ Hopefully it is not horribly painful or anything…it definitely looks uncomfortable. About the only things I could find when I briefly looked for stuff related to “face turning red and hot on one side”, etc., were rosacea (which doesn’t seem likely) and something called “complex regional pain syndrome”:

…which does actually sound like it has some stuff in common with the autonomic crud you (and your mom) have dealt with. But not exactly the same. I’d never heard of it, though.
On I looked that up and it matched something the pain doctor had muttered, “RSD”. But he also said he was just thinking aloud and it might not be that at all, he wants to check with my neurologist to see if it’s migraine related, and it could be a whole lot of different things. I told him my neurologist thinks every damn thing is migraine related but he said check anyway.
