because i bought a hunting knife today and i have a throwing knife set and another blade set on hold and i have a bunch of pocket knives littered all over my room it’s not even funny

No special interests about dangerous things these days, though when I was a teenager I did have an extreme interest in drugs (hallucinogens in particular) for a while. This being an ongoing thing prior to ever even getting within shouting distance of an actual drug. It got to where like…half my class thought I was constantly high, which was mildly annoying, albeit (in my mind, at that age) an upgrade from being called “reeee-tard”. :/

As an adult the closest I’ve had to “interests in dangerous things” are “interests in gross/horrible things”. Like I’ve been through phases of wanting to “test my will” by watching videos of botfly extractions or guinea worms or whatnot. Which for some reason I’m weirdly embarrassed about, though obviously I have NO desire to infect anyone with botflies!

I had the same experience as feliscorvus pretty much to the letter.

Also I have a friend who has had a lifelong special interest in weapons. She compensated by teaching herself scrupulous rules about weapons. Like never point a gun at anyone. To the point she obeys it even if the gun is not loaded and is in pieces.
