Heh I remember a person I knew who was a die hard LoTR fan. I mean I read the books every year of my life since I was twelve, often more than that, for a long time. But this person knew everything from every piece of Tolkien’s writing backwards and forwards. And she really hated the movies, and then said she could only see them as fanfic, not an adaptation of the books. Except she almost said that like that did make them worse than the books. Idk.
