So my friend told me that wearing two braids makes some people not take me seriously, because they already think of me as a child. And that just adds to the image. So have bought some scarves and hair nets to cover the braids. This is one of them.

I mostly like blue and brown for clothes. So when I was looking for brown scarves, I was really happy that most of them had blue in them too. So I ordered a bunch of them cheap on eBay.

And suddenly I apparently look more adult. I don’t usually go in for caving to social pressure like this. But at the moment, the more seriously anyone takes me, can be a matter of life and death. So I’m willing to clip the pigtails behind my head and cover them. (Not willing to give them up, because they’re the only way I can keep my hair from turning into a giant mat. And I like having hair. My hair has to be super short to prevent matting, even two inches can tangle.)

I hate every moment of having to hide something as silly as a hairstyle because of how people look at it. But I like the scarves. And they also double as good for days when my hair is so matted that I don’t want to be treated badly for that either. (That’s when I started wearing them more, any time I’m just out of the hospital, where I never have the energy to braid it or comb it.)

The hair nets… Sort of work. They keep things contained, but my hair still pokes out of them at weird angles. I’ve got one on now just as one more thing keeping the braids in place, because otherwise they have a tendency to get all over the place.
