My last shirt was baggy. But this one isn’t. And the outline of the feeding tube is very visible through it. Not that I mind. It just startled me when I looked in the mirror.
I had to finally change shirts because I was sucking stomach acid out the g tube end with a syringe, and I guess the pressure got too much? Because it started leaking out of this gasket thing at the base of the tube, all over me and my shirt and the bed. But it isn’t leaking any of the rest of the time so I don’t think it’s an emergency. Just a sign I should not put huge amounts of pressure on the thing through vacuum. One more damn thing to learn about these tubes.
I’m definitely learning, both with the tube and the stoma, that given sufficient pressure from the inside, air and fluid will come out the area with the least pressure. If it’s pressure inside me and my stoma isn’t snug enough, that means stoma farts. And apparently if it’s pressure in the tube, that gasket area can leak. But it took a huge amount of pressure for it to leak, so I think I’m okay. I don’t know if I will ultimately need the tube replaced or not but it doesn’t seem like an emergency.
