Since clatterbane was thinking about getting a snood, and I just got one, I thought I could show what happens with it. It works really well for keeping my braids in, so they don’t fall out while the scarf is tied around my head. Because I hate when they do that. But as you can see especially in the first picture, it doesn’t get rid of curly frizzy stuff getting out and doing strange things. (My hair has all textures from almost straight to fairly curly. It’s the curly stuff that causes the worst matting, and the curly stuff that escapes the snood the best and creates a frizz halo.)
But the good thing about the snood is it keeps my hair contained, which cuts down on some of the sensory issues involved with long hair when it isn’t perfectly groomed. It also keeps the braids from falling out of the scarf. Which since the scarf is to hide the braids, it’s a good thing.
