…Okay.
I’m a Christian. I believe there is a God and Jesus was and is real.
But I also believe that “good can & should be done without worrying whether or not you’ve done sufficient good to be rewarded.”
Because my reward isn’t for doing good, it’s for my faith.
(And I am fully aware that not all people of faith agree with me. I just think it’s weird that this atheist apparently thinks that this is a huge difference between atheism and having religious faith, when that isn’t necessarily the case.)

I’ve noticed that most very vocal atheists have a very simplistic idea of what religion, spirituality, and faith actually are. Often they think we all believe in God (and all the same god), and that we think of God as a big man who sits in the sky, and a lot of other strange things that far from all of us believe, even far from all Christians believe. (I’m not Christian but I know better than to think all Christians or even most Christians see God the way atheists tend to think they must see God.) When I say very vocal atheists I mean ones who manage to get their voices heard the loudest online and elsewhere. I know plenty of atheists who know better. It just seems like many of the loudest ones think really weird simplistic things about religion, spirituality, and faith. In many cases I know plenty of religious and spiritual people including myself who would be in full agreement with many atheists on many things… and yet somehow in their eyes that’s impossible.
