 Trying to find the right words: The thing about resentment

Everyone’s been mad enough at another person that they had an urge to hurt them, at some point or another.

Good people don’t want to act on this, except in really necessary self defense.

But then, with autism… People teach parents that these feelings are normal and the inevitable result of…

That’s absolutely why they’ve found that when people say in the media that killing your disabled kid is understandable because of the stress, and an example of why we need more services… More disabled kids die. They’ve actually studied this. Ask Dick Sobsey.

That’s besides the fact that it is just plain skeevy, to hold autistic people hostage in a demand for better services. What it really works out to is “give us respite services or we will kill them,” which is really horrible If I have to explain why that’s wrong I just can’t.
