I wish I understood what was going on with this cat. He doesn’t seem to eat when I’m not there. He’ll only eat if I stand directly by his food bowl and watch him. Then every bite or so he stops to look at me.
Is he only eating while I watch because he feels pressured to, or does he find me standing there reassuring? I’m pretty sure a few bites of food a day is not enough for a cat. :c

poopballs said: i doubt he feels pressured to eat. if he didn’t want to eat he wouldn’t. he is eating, that’s a good thing, you’ve still only had him for a few days, so he’s probably still getting used to his surroundings& he might be eating when you’re not looking.
isabelknight said: I’ve heard that with other people’s cats! Some cats like people to watch them eat -I don’t know if it’s a social thing or an “I’m eating, so give me more food!” thing. If it’s wet food, maybe try halving the amount per feeding but feeding more often?
