However, not everyone has a hat specially made for the occasion, like this medieval reader. Such entertaining marginal scenes are quite common in medieval books. This cat scene was likely meant to bring a smile to the beholder’s face. Mission accomplished! The cats have clearly been running things for a long long time.

Loving cats is universal. However, not everyone has a hat specially made for the occasion, like this medieval reader. Such entertaining marginal scenes are quite common in medieval books. This cat scene was likely meant to bring a smile to the beholder’s face. Mission accomplished!
