Some examples of stuff I totally missed in Harry Potter before getting it on Kindle (no spoilers)
See my last post on Harry Potter if this one makes no sense:

Now for the sort of stuff I missed. This is all background for a conversation between three characters that does contain spoilers. But I’m just mentioning the non spoiler stuff, not the conversation, so it’s safe:
“Peeves was floating dreamily up near the chandelier, occasionally blowing an ink pellet at somebody’s head.”
“She squeezed away from them, narrowly dodged an ink pellet from Peeves, which nearly hit a nearby first year instead, and vanished from sight.”
“Peeves floated over them on his stomach, peashooter at the ready; automatically all three of them lifted their bags to cover their heads until he had passed.”
“An ink pellet whizzed past them, striking Katie Bell squarely in the ear. Hermione watched Katie leap to her feet and start throwing things at Peeves…”
“The bell rang just as Peeves swooped down upon Katie and emptied an entire ink bottle over her head.”
None of that is crucial plot information, although I was missing some of that too. But it’s the sort of stuff that gives the books their atmosphere and charm. Without all that all I could see was the vague shapes of characters moving around, not the rich detail she used to create a believable wizarding world.
