The medical model doesn’t mean treating things medically by going to a doctor.
It means being treated in regards to disability, the way the medical profession has historically treated us.
The doctor is always right, our existence is an unfortunate tragedy, medical science exists to do what the doctor says, not what you need, you must submit to their authority about you and your life, you and your body are defective mistakes, and much much more.
The medical model doesn’t mean a disabled person wants medical treatment sometimes. It’s far more sinister than that.
I’m not big on any of these models but it helps for people to know what they are.
