Funny story: I really do not give a shit if a dude who sexually harassed me is “really a nice guy”. No, I’m not going to “give him a chance”. No, I don’t care if he’s a decent human being to the rest of planet earth. He was a demeaning, misogynistic jackass to me and I humbly reserve the right to dislike him. I’m allowed to have negative opinions of people who mistreat me. Everyone is allowed that.

Yeah I still remember how I was supposedly judgemental for realizing a guy was a creepazoid and a habitual liar, after he promised my friend a computer job and an apartment and then when she got across the country to meet him, he tried to rape her. Faked a suicide attempt to earn her sympathy, talked his way out of the psych ward in hours, then somehow tried to defend it as she owed him sex and it was her fault if his lust was unrequited.

So she’d just given up her whole life to move out there for this job. And instead nearly got raped. And I’m judgmental for calling him a sociopathic creep. (Gah he used to brag about crossing state lines with stolen property on his way to commit statutory rape, and people wonder why I don’t trust him.)

Thankfully I got only a tiny bit of his tendencies to sexually manipulate women. Although he’s targeted me in other ways because I’m immune to his habitual “I used to be awful and I’ve changed” act. The whole time I’ve known him, he’s spent all that time hurting people for fun, showing no sign of a conscience.

But I’m not supposed to judge. Not after what he’s done to me. Or my friends. Or all the other people, usually female or presumed such, that he’s targeted as human playthings.

But the first time I referred to him as a compulsive liar, a friend asked me where I’d become so judgmental. Generally learned to judge him by watching him hurt people for fun. And I’ll judge all I want. It’s a lifelong pattern for him, fucking up people’s lives is like a game and we are his toys.

I’m the one that got away, that wouldn’t play, that sees through glamour. For that more than anything, he hates me.
