Autistic Eagle: Question for uterus-owning people.

Or at least, uterus owning people who menstruate.

Kris from Queerability and I were just talking about how our periods (which are totally synced right now. Hell yeah) make us much more sensitive to sensory overload and basically throws all executive function out the window.

I’ve been on…

They used to make me way oversensitive and also sometimes made me feel like I was dying. And drowning in emotion.

This is the time of pain, sensory hell, special types of migraines, more pain, lack of sleep, a little bit more of pain, shutdown and inertia. Have I mentioned the pain?

Lack of sleep also increases pain that in turn makes sleeping more difficult and both cause me to be extremely oversensitive, not only my senses get stronger is harder to manage and my tolerance is really lower than normal, I start to get problems a week before and very hypersensitive. Language and communication gets worse too. I don’t have energy and my executive function suffers with all of that.

I also have PMS diagnosis but not in the way is mostly described as emotional problems, for me is more physical problems with few or none emotional symptoms (I wonder if so much focus on the emotional side and ignoring the physical comes from the stereotypes and being a “women’s problem", not many descriptions talk about my kind of symptoms).

Oh yes all that too plus bowel problems and feeling like I’m going to pass out.
