can i just point out that when you suffer from an illness and people tell you that you’re being ‘strong’ what they really mean is ‘you haven’t complained about your illness so well done for not making everyone else feel awkward please continue so that we can not feel uncomfortable’

And people expect you to take it as the best compliment you’ve ever received…

Or it means “hey, you haven’t died yet. Well done.“
