It was probably “Mental Patient Kills Child,“ “Mental Patient Beats Up Wife,” “Mental Patient Drives Car Into Telephone Pole.“ When is the last time — to steal a line from Judi Chamberlin’s book “On Our Own” — that you saw a headline that read “Mental Patient Elected Head of House and Garden Club?“ When I graduate from law school next year, is there going to be a headline that says “Mental Patient Graduates From Law School?”
