Send me questions!

savingspoons:

Hospital boredom is the worst kind. I will literally talk to anyone about anything. Ugh.

Ugh. Don’t know what questions to send because I’m feeling too crappy to be creative. But I understand hospital boredom all the way.

Oh here’s a question.

Do hospitals ever make you delirious? Delirium isn’t just hallucinations, it’s many kinds of cognitive impairment, look it up on Wikipedia. And even healthy people can develop it in environments of sensory deprivation, including hospitals.

I don’t get it as much at home, even though I mostly only see one room of the house. I do get it at home if I get sick enough. Delirium creates brain damage which creates more vulnerability to delirium, and I’ve had severe delirium tons of times.

I get some degree of delirium every time I go to the hospital. Often pretty severe, as in very disoriented, hallucinating, and inactive. (The kind where you’re inactive is more dangerous than active delirium in terms if survival, even though the active kind is more dramatic.)

I thought of the question because I’m very much not prone to boredom in general. But the more delirious I get, the more bored I get. So I’m more bored when actively hallucinating than when not, and that seems weird. So I thought of the question after all.
