There are a lot of slurs that are so ingrained into English-speaking culture that people who say them don’t always realize that they are slurs.

Spade is a slur for black people. (Because of the connection to a black suit in playing cards.) “Call a spade a spade” isn’t, but people avoid it because it sounds like one.
