I just skimmed through an issue of an autism journal dedicated to “first person” accounts of autism.

I may have counted wrong so this is approximate.

Thirteen of the writers were non autistic people. Parents, step parents, sisters, brothers, and even cousins.

Nine were autistic.

FIRST PERSON my ass.

(I bet this is why some parents feel entitled to post in that actuallyautistic tag. Because virtually nobody can distinguish between autistic people and our family members. Nonautistic family members can write “first-hand" or “first person" accounts of autism and nobody questions it. They honestly believe if they’re related to an autistic person is effectively the same as being autistic.)

This has pissed me off for over a decade and it’s only getting worse, not better
