This is a really weird, dehumanizing statement to make about “people you see in public" or people in general. I don’t know what this refers to. WHICH people are you looking at and deciding they’re walking zombies? Are you referring to emotional apathy? Intellectual laziness? Is this a metaphor for socially complacent people who refuse to even think about injustice in the world around them? This quote creeps me the fuck out.
