I’m a little worried by “it will allow gay couples to get married in both civil and religious ceremonies".

Isn’t this forcing religion’s institutes to do something that is against their believes? What happened with separating religion from government?

If the answer for first question is “Yes" then it isn’t victory. 

Certain religious institutes have said they’re happy to allow gay marriage services in their places of worship. So, it’s not forcing anyone as all religions practicing in England and Wales were given the option to opt out if they didn’t want to have them.

The BBC’s FAQ can tell you who is and isn’t participating in gay marriage ceremonies:

Not going to lie, it’s quite disappointing how out of six major religious organisations, only one and two-thirds are in complete favour of marriage equality. The three largest- The Anglican Church, the Catholic Church, and the Muslim Council- are all quite firmly against, with the CoE going so far as to wrangle themselves a ban on marrying same-sex couples. The official Sikh position is more moderate, but also more arbitrary, as Sikhism has nothing whatsoever to say about same-sex couples.
