The nurse at my GI doctors office is a moron. She’s the one who once told me to supplement my Zofran with ondansetron. They are the same drug!

Anyway, to make an appointment there, you have to go through her. When I told her I was having problems with acid reflux and generally feeling like my GP…

I’ve been told that sort of thing too. That if I’m taking my reflux meds I went get reflux. Ha ha ha no. That’s not how it works.

Oh also that if I’m on my meds then I went get pneumonia or burning in my lungs when I aspirate.

MEDS ARE NOT MAGIC.

And supplementing Zofran with ondansetron is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.

I supplement my Zofran all right. But that’s with Phenergan, Reglan, Marinol, Benadryl, and Ativan. (Yes the last two help nausea.) I’m shocked how many docs think only one nausea med will work for gastroparesis. I literally couldn’t leave the hospital last fall until I was on six.
