I love telling someone who I think had GP about the disease because I’m giving them some insight and another option as to what might be wrong with them, but on the other hand I hate telling them because I never want to see another person have to suffer from this evil disease, and it breaks my heart.
I see it as pretty much all good to tell them. Because if they have it, they have it whether I tell them or not. And if I tell them, it doesn’t change whether they have it. It just means maybe they’ll get diagnosed and treated before it gets as severe as mine. Because I had to wait at least ten years for a diagnosis. And who knows what would’ve happened if I got the pacer a few years ago. The first time I was hospitalized for it, they just called it a stomach bug, even though they knew damn well that you don’t prescribe years worth of Reglan and Zofran to people with stomach bugs.
