I am sick.
I ‘woke up’ (since I didn’t really sleep I can’t really wake up) this morning with lupus lesions in my nose, triple the amount I had in my mouth from yesterday, massive flank pain (thanks kidneys!), a fever, swollen joints, chest pains when I try to breathe too deeply, & fatigue on a level only other spoonies can understand.
When people with lupus and/or fibro say stress causes their diseases to physically manifest all over their bodies, we’re not kidding.

Also, I have to point out again that it really is shady as fuck if you take this kind of thing to mean that either stress is somehow causing the chronic illness—or that there is no actual chronic illness at all.And neuromuscular irritability really is a thing, not just from hypocalcemia or certain other deficiencies. Stress can trigger all kinds of strange shit.

If my body is already worn out enough, stress can tip my muscles over the edge into too weak to breathe on my own. Bad.
