The bees really love working the lobelia. Good thing I ended up planting plenty of it in baskets this year. :) The focus was off in that second one, but I liked the wing texture anyway.
As an indication of the honeybee decline here in the UK, I have only seen maybe two or three of them all season so far. (One this afternoon, no photos.) It’s all bumblebees and some assorted solitary bees. More than a little creepy.
ETA: I forgot to add that these are both Red-tailed Bumblebees, Bombus lapidarius, which is most of what I’ve been seeing recently.
