Wow.

I’m trying to remember…

I used a cane back before I got my wheelchair, in my early twenties.

And while people treated me like crap for being disabled, they never questioned me needing it.

I wonder if some of it is because I “look cognitively disabled” and it gets transferred over? I remember getting called the r-word by strangers before I got any mobility equipment. IDK.

I totally believe this happens though.
