#Wow, our #government is so #corrupt. #WakeUp! #Autism #Awareness

Look! A handy list of things that don’t cause autism!

This sort of thing makes me sick. It uses disabled people as pawns in a political game about environmental issues. It makes us more likely to see and be sent to quacks.
Quacks do two really bad things to disabled people.
They give treatments we don’t need, for conditions we may not even have.
They fail to give treatments we desperately need. Keep us from getting accurate diagnoses.
Make us really sick or kill us sometimes. Always, always blame it on the treatment “working”. Instead of in the fact we are getting given dangerous treatments we don’t need.
Take advantage of natural changes in our development and symptoms, to claim credit any time we improve.
Give us and our parents the sympathetic attention that all doctors ought to give us. Except quacks do it because it provides such a contrast between them and some of the traditional doctors we’ve seen. Which earns our trust. Which earns them money or prestige.
One former quack divided quacks up into the true believers and the PT Barnums. The true believers rely believe in what they’re doing.  The PTBs are trying to pull one over on us and our families, for money, in record numbers.
Caring about the environment is a really important thing. But using disabled people with totally unrelated conditions, to fuel that quest? No. Bad.
And a lot of this isn’t even about caring about the environment. Is about lining the pockets of quacks.
Oh did you know there are lots of entire laboratories whose main reason for existing is to supply quacks with bogus or misleading test results showing whatever the quack needs them to show. Other times quacks use real test results but interpret them in highly non-standard ways. Or else do things to their patients that tweak the results of real tests, so that they will show results that are misleading to anyone who doesn’t understand what just happened.
How do I know all this?  Former quacks have written or directly told me a lot of it.
Also I saw several quacks when I was younger. They gave me treatments that could have killed me. They failed to diagnose, or misdiagnosed, obvious stuff that later became life threatening.
And when their treatments made me extremely ill? Tried to convince me that it was yeast die off, which is the bullshit explanation for severe side effects to treatments and diets in their world. Told me that if I quit now, it meant I didn’t really want to get well.  Tried to persuade my parents to force me to do their treatments and their tests and stuff. All for money.
Telling a disabled person, “if you don’t do this, it means you just not want to get well” is, 99 times out of 100, a cruel and manipulative way to guilt us into doing what you want us to. Doing it for money is despicable. Quacks do that, plus tons of other manipulation, constantly. And for most of them, it’s not that they want to help you, is that they want your money.
And this stuff? Feeds into the fears they are creating to lure you into giving them money for potentially write dangerous treatments you don’t need. While ignoring whatever treatment you might need.
And if it’s not you that’s getting treated, it’s even worse. Usually a child who has no means of stopping the treatment. And since all autistic children grow and learn with time? That natural growth and learning will always get attributed to the treatment of the day.
I could go on forever…
