From what I’ve heard, dignity is often a code word for incontinence and other toileting problems. Lots of people kill themselves just because they need help in the bathroom, or may need it in the future. And instead of looking on this as a very serious problem, people encourage it.

Much of what people call undignified in a disability context, is simply the everyday reality of being disabled. Which is basically saying that to be disabled is to be undignified.
