Pranks can be funny, but a lot of them are bad.

There are basically two kinds of ok pranks:

At one of my schools a bunch of kids played a prank where they convinced this other kid they were part of a counterfeiting ring for some sort of organized crime figure. It was more elaborate than anything you could possibly imagine. It was so elaborate that years later whenever I met someone similar to me online, I thought maybe it ed some of the same kids messing with me.

I stepped in, along with another kid, and told the target what was actually happening. Just before they would have done a mock execution. But when we told him, he believed that we might have been working for the same group, trying to confuse him. They had him that paranoid.

He was another person without the greatest social skills, who, like me, was convinced that these were his friends. Except unlike me he never figured it out. He still thinks they’re his friends.

According to someone else we know, to this day he sees having them do stuff like this to him as funny. Even though they just see it as funny that they’re pulling one over on him again. He thinks that having them to this to him is almost as good as being in on the joke like they are. It’s terrible.

(My interference in that mess is another motivation some people have to speak ill of me whenever they can.)

Oh and the guy who thought up the mock execution? Went in to work for the Pentagon.
