Girls on this site need to shut up about how bad periods are.
Yes, it’s shit having blood come out of your vag for a few days each month, it’s shit having pain in your abdominal area, and yes, it’s shit having fluctuating moods while your period is happening.
But that’s no reason to act like a dick to boys who say that getting a boner in a public place is horrible, because my guess is that it is. Maybe almost as bad a leakage.
To be honest, having my period isn’t that bad. Aside from some slight discomfort from the pad or tampon and paranoia about leakage or TSS, it’s easy to live with, and that’s what we’re going to have to do until menopause, LIVE WITH IT.
Seriously ladies, suck it up and get over it.

YOU.
SHUT THE FUCK UP AND GO THE FUCK HOME.
I’M GLAD YOU DON’T HAVE TO FACE POTENTIAL SURGERY ON ACCOUNT OF HEAVY PERIODS AND I’M GLAD YOU HAVE NEVER HAD ENDOMETRIOSIS AND I’M GLAD YOU HAVE NEVER HAD TO TAKE AN IRON SUPPLEMENT BECAUSE OF YOUR PERIOD AND I’M GLAD YOU DON’T HAVE SERIOUS HEALTH ISSUES OR HAVE NEVER MISSED A DAY OF WORK ON ACCOUNT OF YOUR LADY BITS.
IF YOU CAN’T HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF UNDERSTANDING FOR PEOPLE WHO DO, THEN MAYBE YOU WILL WHEN IT HAPPENS TO YOU.IN THE MEAN TIME, SHUT YOUR BIG FAT STUPID MOUTH, YOU EFFING IDIOT.
I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO MAD AT A TUMBLR USER BEFORE IN MY LIFE.

Someone else said something about exaggerations.
Here, have some trufax from me (and my experiences weren’t anywhere near as bad as some people’s).
Until I was 15, I had no cramping or anything when I had my period. Zip. Nada. Nothing. I bled and was fine. For like three years.
When I was 15, I started having horrible cramps on the first day of my period. ONLY the first day. They were nasty. The first time I had them, I could barely walk, and I was at church camp as a counsellor-in-training, helping with the crafts, and I was useless.
I forget just when, but eventually I figured out that the first day of my period was always the heaviest flow. This was accompanied by liquid bowel movements. And hot flashes. Remember, I was also getting the worst cramps ever on this day. I would take two Extra-Strength Pamprin the morning of and wear a top I could easily take off while sitting on the toilet in the stall at school so I could cool off a bit.
In my early twenties, we figured out that I was lactose intolerant, and I figured out that avoiding milk for the week before I was due to start bleeding meant less pain and better-formed bowel movements. I still had hot flashes. No doctor (to this day) has been able to tell me why this has any effect.
The only reason this is no longer an issue is that I am on the pill (Yaz 28) and that has made my flow much lighter and eliminated all of the cramping and hot flashes. I still have loose bowel movements, but I’m working on that through a gradual elimination diet; I don’t think it’s really related to my period except that it was made worse by the hormonal fluctuations or something. I also switched to cloth pads about four years ago, and they are much more comfortable than disposables.
Oh, and I have been able to use tampons exactly twice in my entire life. That includes after I became sexually active. Pads are it for me, so I can’t go swimming when I’m bleeding. Ever.
Periods suck.
They are painful.
They are gross.
And you are gross if you are telling other people who bleed regularly that it’s not so bad, because it is that bad, for a lot of people.

They’re also horrible of you have menstrual migraines. Which means that every month you get horrible migraines. Or your existing migraines get worse.
