Warning people about stalkers is not gossip
Sometimes it seems like when people object to gossip, it really means that they’re totally ok with spreading rumors about people, but they vehemently object to others warning people about anything important.
Yeah. Although sometimes stalkers use even that rule to spread gossip.
Like my stalker tells everyone that I have been stalking her since I was a kid (!) to steal her life story.
Which is 100% untrue. I’d barely heard of her before I started talking to her.
But she gets away with it in some circles because she is “warning people about a stalker”. In fact her M.O. in general is to accuse people of doing something, right before doing that same thing to them.
Real stalkers and bullies will always use anti stalking and anti bullying social rules against their victims. And that’s exactly what she does. And she is very good at manipulating disability stereotypes against people. Which I would have no hope of doing even if I wanted to.
