People are tube fed for many different reasons. I have Eosinophilic Esophagitis a rare autoimmune disease. I am 100% tube fed. Many people don’t know what to say to people when they see someone with something coming out their nose or have a backpack with a tube going up their shirt, well truth is we’re just like any other person you see. We just eat a little different. Just because we have a tube doesn’t mean we’re contagious. You won’t catch what we have. Stop the stigma against feeding tubes. We just want to live normal lives and have fun like everybody else. Reblog and spread the word awareness is key to acceptance :)

One of the worst prejudices for me (Also 100% tube fed, gastroparesis, GJ tube) has been the way people, including medical professionals, often believe that once you become a tubie your life is over or might as well be over. My life is far from over. I wouldn’t HAVE a life if I didn’t have a tube. And the “better dead than tube fed” mentality almost prevented me from getting my tube in the first place. I love my tube. I love being alive. I love every day of life my tube gives me. Even shitty days like today. Nobody has the right to decide my tube makes my life not worth living.
