Cognitive differences
There’s a pattern that goes:
- If stimming was socially acceptable, then we’d be just like everyone else,
- If our sensory needs were met, then we’d be just like everyone else
- If typing was just as socially acceptable as speaking, then we’d be just like everyone else
But… there are actual cognitive differences, too. Not just that stuff. Not just the mechanics and sensory stuff.
Also I am not “just like an aspie except I type”. I really resent when people act like that. There are people very much like they but I’m not one of them. And I wouldn’t be if I could still talk either.

rutdeleu said: I’m not “just like everyone else” and won’t be no matter how well I “pass”/am accepted/am accommodated as is. Those are helpful (in varying degrees) but won’t change that I still think differently.
