A non-whitewashed fantasy cover for once! And the character is much as I imagined her.  I hate the cover of the one I have. But this is not the English edition. (Momo by Michael Ende.)
Aside from one tiny scene this is my favorite book ever ever ever. And practically nobody has heard of it.  A homeless orphan girl with a talent for listening has to save the world from men in grey who are trying to steal time.

Eeeee yes Momo! One of the awesomest books ever. Michael Ende is one of those authors who “got it” about…a whole bunch of things that I don’t often see being written about, at least in ways that my brain recognizes. I wish I could read German so I could read the original versions, but the English translations I’ve read seem like they must at least be decent.

Also, yeah, this cover (in the reblog) is wonderful. The character art looks *exactly* like I pictured Momo while reading.:D The one I have has this cover: http://s3.mugglenet.com/news/2012/6/endemomo.jpg

…which is not nearly as cool.

Yes I have the same cover and I’ve never liked it. Like who is that girl and what has she done with Momo? But I was so excited when I found the cover I just posted. I only heard of the book at all because I had a German friend who urged me to track it down.

I loved this book so much. For ages I kind of thought I’d made it up but it’s SO good and everyone should read it.
