Look, I was a “very socially awkward” person once*. So were most of my friends. You couldn’t flap your hands at one of our gatherings without hitting a fellow whimsically-brained…

One of the most awful people I’ve ever met hid behind the facade of a socially awkward sweet naive romantic boy… until you unpeeled it and found someone with no compassion who saw all other people as either playthings or accomplices.

He specifically used that facade. He didn’t unintentionally create it. He used it.

He specifically targeted people who were socially awkward at the least, autistic, otherwise DD, and/or mentally ill at the most.

I almost provided you with a list of everything he had done to me and people I know, but it got too unwieldy. So I’ll just say that he ENJOYED it. He didn’t just, for instance, pursue women for sex, although that was one of the main things people noticed about him. He did it for the power and the game of it and the fun of outsmarting other people and gloating about it. And that was far from the only thing he did to other people, he just enjoyed harming people, especially if it made him feel intelligent, invincible, etc. And playing with the minds of people he considered vulnerable (especially cognitively, socially, mentally, emotionally disabled people) seems to have been a lifetime favorite.

And yet when I talked to one of his friends about what he’d been doing to me, he described him as “a compulsive liar who’s obsessive about women” as if that explained… anything!?

What disturbs me the most is that one of his friends is an actually socially awkward person who believes that being the butt of his jokes is the next best thing to being in on them.
