And no I haven’t slept yet. At all.

Because there was a power outage right as I was about to fall asleep.

And ever since I heard central apnea is basically Cheyne-Stokes respiration in your sleep, I’ve been a lot less keen to let myself fall asleep without the machine. That and I feel worse when I wake up than I did falling asleep.
