Today, I went on my morning run (okay, it was a 5 pm jog), my thoughts went from ugh this sucks this sucks to a sharp careen left. And I’m suddenly dictating, in my mind, this story about a book series that changed my life.

Unlike people who found it as kids, I found it as an adult and so my experience was rather different.

It was “oh wow so THIS is what I’ve been trying to do all this time”. And “oh wow that Oath was more or less written on my heart and I didn’t know it… How did it get there?”

Yeah, I found the books at about 12 or 13… and it was like seeing this is what’s engraved on my heart, but in different/less words.  And someone put it into words.  But some incomplete form of it is one of the first things I remember knowing.

(My blog title is one “line” from the less-words, non dduane version.)

And yes, the “heart” of wizardry is already here, in fixing and making tings and feeling what they’re like.  Not that the flashy stuff wouldn’t be super cool! ^_^
